Long Division with Two Digit Divisors
Long division with two digit divisors is very similar to single digit divisors. Review the video on long division under the first nine weeks before you watch the video below. I want students to work the problems the same way but estimate the divisors to make working the problems faster. To view the video below click the play button. Sample Word Problems
1. Heather's grandmother won two hundred dollars playing bingo. She wants to split the money between her ten grandchildren as a gift. How much money will each child receive?
2. A normal shoebox can hold 24 cds. Tom needs to store his cds in his closet. If Tom has 2,345 cds, how many shoe boxes will he need to have to store them?
3. Roger wants to audition people for his new movie. He only has 2 and 1/2 hours to audition actors. If he has 15 actors on the list, how much time can he take to see each person equally?
4. Greg's teacher has two dollars and twenty-two students. She wants to give each student as much money as she possibly can but she wants all the students to get the same amount. How much money can each student get fairly?
5. There are two hundred and fifty five people at Paige's birthday party. 9/17 of them are family members. How many of the guests are not related to Paige?
